1. Who we are

Tudlo (“Tudlo”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent online English tutoring service operated by Aivy Fundar Ylanan of Prosperidad Agusan del Sur, Philippines. For everything in this policy, we are the “data controller” — the party that decides how and why your personal information is used. You can reach us at support.tudlo@gmail.com.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, because we are not required to.

2. What personal information we collect

Information you give us

  • Enquiry / trial-lesson form: your name, email address, your preferred messaging app (WhatsApp, Telegram or KakaoTalk) and the number you use on it, who the lesson is for (child, teen, university student or adult), the skills you want to improve, and the free-text “goal” you choose to add.
  • Correspondence: anything you send us by email, or through WhatsApp, Telegram or KakaoTalk if you choose to contact us there, including scheduling details and information about the learner that you decide to share.
  • Booking & lesson records: once you book, a record of lessons scheduled and delivered, notes on learning goals and progress, and payment references (we do not store full card numbers — see “Payments”).

Information collected automatically

  • Hosting logs: this site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). GitHub keeps standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to serve the site and keep it secure.
  • Fonts: the site currently loads fonts from Google Fonts. When it does, your browser contacts Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address. We are moving to self-hosted fonts to stop this; until then, you can block third-party requests in your browser.
  • Spam protection: our form provider (see below) processes your IP address and a hidden “honeypot” field to filter out automated submissions.
  • Cookies: we do not use analytics or advertising cookies. See our Cookies Policy.

We do not deliberately collect “special category” data (such as health, religion or ethnicity). Please don’t put any in the free-text goal field.

3. How and why we use your information

Purpose Legal basis (UK / EU GDPR)
Respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation or trial Steps taken at your request before entering a contract
Provide lessons, schedule sessions, keep progress notes, take payment Performance of our contract with you
Keep the website and our forms secure; prevent spam and fraud Our legitimate interest in protecting the service
Keep business, tax and accounting records Compliance with a legal obligation
Send you tips, offers or a newsletter (only if you ask) Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time
Publish a testimonial or feedback that identifies you Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time

4. Children and young learners

Tudlo teaches children and teenagers, but our website and booking process are meant for adults. If the learner is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must make the enquiry and the booking, and gives consent on the child’s behalf.

  • EU/EEA: where we rely on consent for an online service offered to a child, the child must be at least 16 (or the lower age their country sets, between 13 and 16). Below that, the holder of parental responsibility must consent. In practice we rely on parent/guardian consent for every under-18 booking.
  • UK: the equivalent age is 13.
  • Republic of Korea: for a child under 14 we collect and use personal information only with a legal guardian’s consent, and we ask for the minimum information needed to obtain it.

If you think a child has given us personal information without the right consent, email support.tudlo@gmail.com and we will delete it.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Web3Forms — delivers our website form submissions to our inbox; your form data passes through their servers. See web3forms.com/privacy.
  • Google — Gmail for our email, and Google Fonts for website typography (receives your IP, as described above).
  • GitHub, Inc. — website hosting (GitHub Pages).
  • The tutor delivering your lessons, and the video-call platform used for sessions Zoom Meeting.
  • Professional advisers and authorities where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

6. Sending data outside your country

Some providers above are based in the United States, and the tutor and Tudlo’s own operations are based in the Philippines. Your information may therefore be transferred outside the EEA, the UK or Korea.

Where we do this, we rely on an appropriate safeguard — an adequacy decision, the EU / UK Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, or a provider’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework — or, for Korea, on your separate consent to the overseas transfer where that is required. Ask us for a copy of the safeguard we use.

7. Payments

If and when Tudlo takes payment, card and bank details are entered on our payment provider’s secure page and handled by them. Tudlo receives only a confirmation and a transaction reference — not your full card number.

8. How we protect your information

We keep access to your information limited to people who need it, use reputable providers that encrypt data in transit, protect accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication where available, and delete information when we no longer need it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

9. Other websites

Our site and emails link to other services (for example a calendar booking page, WhatsApp, Telegram or KakaoTalk). This policy doesn’t cover them — read their own privacy policies before you use them.

10. Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change and move the “last updated” date. If a change is significant, we’ll tell current enquirers and clients by email.
